A word from our graduates

LeeAnne Soobramoney, a top achiever in this year’s graduating class, completed a BCom degree with a major in Business Management. Reflecting on her journey, Soobramoney said, “As a wife and mother who has a full-time job, completing this degree was not without challenges. Regent Business School has been instrumental in helping me achieve a goal I set for myself – to complete my BCom by the time I turned 40 – and I celebrated my 40th birthday the week before graduation. This would not have been possible without the encouragement they offered. The knowledge and skills I acquired during my studies have provided me with a strong foundation to pursue career aspirations that were not previously attainable. I am grateful for the opportunities and support I received throughout my academic journey.”

Emmanuel Sonnyboy Mashiloane, an MBA graduate, expressed his gratitude for the education he received at Regent Business School. Mashiloane said, “Completing my MBA at Regent Business School has been a transformative experience. The program not only enhanced my business acumen but also instilled in me the confidence to tackle complex challenges. I am excited about the future and the impact I can make as a result of this valuable education.”

This year’s graduation ceremony was particularly special as it celebrated the accomplishments of the Mkhwanazi family. Parents Sdu and Linda, both took their MBA on a part-time basis whilst working in demanding full-time positions in the finance sector. Their son, Delron, took his BCom with Supply Chain Management (SCM), Business Management, and Human Resource Management (HRM) as main modules whilst working as a student advisor.

Sdu Mkhwanazi commented, “The MBA program is closely aligned to my work in the public sector, personal ambitions, and future plans. Graduating has empowered me with the ability to work or be deployed to any specialised business support function or field. The knowledge and skills I have acquired allow me to pursue private business opportunities in the future.” His wife Linda Mkhwanazi added: “Apart from the leadership skills, this MBA has given me the opportunity to acquire strategic and critical thinking skills and the ability to develop a long-term vision needed for business-related decision making. These skills not only help in the business environment but can be easily applied to our individual lives in the way we interact daily in relationships on a personal level.”

The Mkhwanazi couple stood side-by-side at graduation with their son, Delron who feels empowered following his graduation: “My aim is to build and operate my own business one day. The benefits of fully incorporating HRM into SCM can lead to a business with a clearer definition of its overall strategy and I believe the successful management of a supply chain rests predominantly on the performance of people. Ultimately, I want to employ HRM practices to align my workforce because in the long-term, there will be improvements in productivity and efficiency which will give me a competitive advantage. I hope to create employment opportunities for others, to add value to our country, and grow our economy.”

All of them agreed that Regent Business School has an excellent student support system in place and enjoyed attending workshops held conveniently close to town which were facilitated by experienced, knowledgeable lecturers. They also appreciated the ease of access to lecture notes and learning material. The Mkhwanazi family’s remarkable achievement exemplifies the power of education to inspire and uplift entire families, setting them on a path toward professional and personal success.

Regent Business School is proud to have nurtured the talents and aspirations of these graduates, and they now join an extensive network of alumni who are making a difference in various industries and sectors across the globe.
